CAREX European and international research organisations forum
Perspectives
In its developments, CAREX has for specific objective to study and provide a synthetic analysis of the science and technology landscape at the European and international level. This analysis is achieved through three specific tasks:
- the development of a strategic research roadmap in the field, based on the inputs of the scientific community,
- the survey of European research funding and performing organisations’ priorities in the field, and
- the survey and mapping of the scientific expertise at the international level.
These efforts do not only provide an integrated perspective of the scientific arena, they are also meant to serve as basis for the identification of potential synergies between countries and organisations and potential future cooperative initiatives.
In order to present the results of these analysis and to provide the opportunity to meet, interact and discuss programmatic aspects of research on life in extreme environments to representatives from European and international research organisations, the project organised the CAREX European and international research organisations forum on March 30-31, 2010 in the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) Headquarters in Rome (Italy).
