INTA-CAB
The Centro de Astrobiología (CAB) is a very recently created research centre devoted to interdisciplinary research and a unique organisation in Europe. CAB is located in the grounds of the Instituto Nacional de Técnica Aeroespacial - the state institution devoted to developing space mission technology. CAB has around 70 staff, one third non-Spanish. The Centre is organized into laboratories devoted to complementary areas of research: biology, microbiology, molecular biology, geology, paleontology, chemistry, physics, engineering and computer sciences. CAB is an associate member of the NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI) and is currently performing collaborative research projects with groups from different institutions associated to the NAI and ESA.
